Eatin' Out Ice Cream Burger @ Dong Juan, Abreeza

March 23, 2013 - After the Abreeza Place event, I was looking for a place for me to eat. But for the sake of exploring new taste and new place, I landed at Dong Juan at Abreeza. It's located at the 3rd floor just beside Figaro.

As I went inside, there were only 2 customers. I understand since it was like 3 in the afternoon and that time, it's expected to only have few customers. I love the place and its ambiance since like what I said, there were only few customers and I can have a peaceful snack time on my own.

Dong Juan opened in Abreeza just few months ago. I always pass by and browse at their menus being displayed outside the restaurant.

This is their menu. It ranges from fritters, sizzlers, gourmet burgers, pasta, salads, pizza, soups, desserts, beverages and others. Since I was craving for something cold, I chose desserts.

At the desserts section, there were only 3 to choose from. When I found Ice Cream Burger, Immediately, I was thinking of an ice cream being sandwiched in a burger bun.  Actually, Ice Cream Burger consists of vanilla ice cream being sandwiched with 2 big cookies, drizzled with choco syrup and peanuts.

As they serve my dessert, my eyes popped for a second! I was expecting like a single scoop of ice cream then a normal size cookies. But damn! I was completely wrong. It's so big! The scoop of vanilla ice cream was just so big and the cookies were big too! Gotta love the plating though.

As I was eating the dessert, one thing I've noticed. For a 129 Peso dessert, surprisingly, it tasted just like an ordinary ice cream and chocolate chip cookies. I was expecting something different since ice cream burger sounds new to my ears.

Maybe my expectations were too high and didn't meet the demands. I almost can't finish my dessert due to its generous serving. Overall, it's just plain ol' cookies and ice cream. (Sigh!)

Although the dessert saved my tummy from hunger, my experience was rather, ordinary. Got to love the place especially when it's afternoon. But choose wisely on the desserts. If you want to visit Dong Juan in Abreeza, it's in you.

  1. I stayed in Cebu for couple of years and discovered Dong Juan there. Now that I'm back here in DC, I'm so glad Dong Juan's here too! I love their cheese sticks, burgers, pasta gambas and shakes. I loooove their foods! :)
