Sunnies by Charlie Invaded Davao @ Chimes Specialty Store

March 13, 2014 - Summer is officially here and what comes next is the heat and bright light that the sun emits in our planet specifically, here in tropical region. But what makes the summer complete is a pair of sunglasses that can protect our eyes from the UV rays of the sun especially in daytime.

If there are expensive sunglasses that your wallet might complain later, why not choose a pair of sunglasses that are affordable yet can bring out the best in you? Well, it's the right time to introduce to you the Sunnies by Charlie sunglasses and it finally invaded Davao! Together with the media, bloggers and guests, we were invited by the official launch at the second level of Chimes Specialty Store located at Sales Street, Davao City.

Let's ride on a time machine and know more about Sunnies by Charlie. It is an independent eyewear and lifestyle based in Manila Philippines. It was founded in 2013 by a collaborative effort between four friends. They are Eric Dee Jr., whom was a co-owner of a popular place called The Embassy in Taguig, Bea Soriano, Georgina Wilson and Martine Cajucom.

Right now, they're available in their new stations in SM MOA, SM Southmall, SM Pampanga and SM Cebu. Also in Sunnies Shoppe located in Glorietta 2. It's also available in other 5 Charlie shops and in an online store Zalora. Just last week, they've opened their latest store here in Davao and soon, they will open more branches nationwide to cater more customers with their affordable yet stylish sunglasses for men and women. The sunglasses can range from 245 Pesos to 499 Pesos and that's how affordable they are!

Because I'm a man, it's obvious that I have to try the men's sunglasses and yes, it didn't disappoint me as most of the pairs were fitted perfectly! I'm always careful when choosing sunglasses as I have to find a right pair that is right to my eyes and my face. With these sunglasses, I'm sure the guys (even the girls) will have no hard time choosing as they can be perfect for anyone to wear.

Women's Sunglasses

Sunnies mainly targets the women customers and it's why there are many selections for them. From the usual ones to the round sunglasses and cat's eyes sunglasses that can make them look chic! They are very stylish but it also comes with a price that I'm sure, every women can afford to buy them.

As hours went by, guests and customers kept coming as the official launch of Sunnies was just minutes away. They've tried every sunglasses that might fit for them and some purchased a pair that they've liked. Afterwards, Eric Dee Jr. first arrived at the launch with the customers and guests took pictures with him.

Minutes went by and the arrival of Georgina Wilson which happened to be one of the endorsers of Sunnies by Charlie made the people on the second floor brought out their mobile phones and cameras to take pictures of her. Some were lucky enough to be beside her and yes, as much as I want to have my picture taken with her, slim chance was the only thing that I have to accept that time and have to be satisfied that I have just taken a single picture of her (shown above). Next to arrive was Bea Soriano and lastly, Martine Cajucom.

Food Delights!

A launch wouldn't be complete without these delectable desserts and thirst quenching lemon juice that will surely draw the guests on their station! From all the desserts that I've tried, I loved the lollicake (lollipop and cake) as it was not that overwhelmingly sweet but the frosting brought out the sweetness of the dessert. The toasted bread with cheese on top was also my favorite as I love the taste of the cheese and it complemented well with the toasted bread. The lemon juice was in the right acidity as it was not so sour and in fact, I loved it!

To our delight, Karla gave us sunglasses for free from Sunnies! We were just so happy to receive a pair of stylish sunglasses that we can use this summer season and we just couldn't wait to wear them! I got the black one (which I will blog soon!) and it looked so cool when I wore it! And I couldn't be any happier to be beside Bea Soriano (which she looked so ravishing!) and have a picture taken by Natalie (thanks!). Fellow blogger Anna Liza gamely posed with her sunglasses to which she looked great with it! (topmost left).

Customers and guests who purchased a pair of Sunnies were actually made to stand in a single line and hold their number to have a picture taken with Georgina Wilson. I was thinking that I should just head home instead since I have a picture of her already BUT, the heaven heard our prayers as we were next to have a picture taken with her! Excited, we made our way to the front immediately and divided us into 2 groups where I was part of the second group of bloggers to have a picture taken with Georgina Wilson! But again, not beside her (hehe!). The important thing though is, at least, I'm with Georgina Wilson in the picture!

The launch was a big success as the customers, guests, media and bloggers had so much fun despite that the venue where we were standing went warm but we had tons of fun seeing the owners and endorsers to have their pictures taken with girls and guys. Thank you Sunnies for the cool sunglasses, Karla for inviting the bloggers to the event, and to the 4 founders of Sunnies who gamely posed for pictures.
