Alaxan FR Galing Mo! Camp Goes to Davao

March 16, 2013 - Every year, PBA legends scout aspiring basketball players to conduct basketball training. The program is part of Alaxan FR's nationwide advocacy to promote a culture of hard work and dedication.

"Dubbed as the Galing Mo! Camp - a training program that will reward not only those who work hard but also those who demonstrate the attitude of champions - the program had young, local basketball players demonstrating heart and skills for a chance to receive special training in Manila under the basketball legends, aside from winning cash grants for themselves and their communities."

Basketball Training
The training camp was trooped with 16-21 years old aspiring locals as they undergo rigorous basketball training by the PBA legends Alvin Patrimonio and Jerry Codinera. They went to series of training from dribbling, shooting, etc. With their training skills, they've improved their playing style in basketball.

Actual Basketball Game
They undergo series of eliminations through the actual basketball play. They've been tested with their skills and at the same time, how they communicate with their teammates. The PBA legends carefully observed each player and at the same time, tallied the scores. They also went through the process of eliminations for those who are qualified for the next round.

Aspiring Local Players of Davao City
After the 1st elimination, the qualified players went through series of warm-up exercises and being called again for another basketball game. It goes through the same process until they reach Top 15 players. It's the stage of which players are qualified for the national level. 5 players were chosen to represent Davao City along with 2 reserve players to face other teams from other cities in the country.

"According to Shiela Rono, Alaxan FR Product Manager, the top 10 participants in the national roster will receive Php 20,000 as well as a Php 100,000 financial grant for an infrastructure project for his community."

To Davao participants, bring home the bacon and break a leg! Best of luck! :D
