Salted Caramel Doughnut By Krispy Kreme

May 14, 2013 - While I was strolling around SM City Davao Annex, I remembered that Krispy Kreme has 2 new flavors that they've introduced to the market. Since exploring new flavor is my favorite hobby, I gave this one a shot! There's no harm in trying though. :D

Salted Caramel Doughnut
Recently, Krispy Kreme introduced 2 new flavors of doughtnuts to the market adding to the roster of all-time favorites. What made me drool unto them is they look delicious and they're so interesting. When I looked at them, I got curious on how they taste like. So I bought the Salted Caramel Doughnut for me to try.

Inside Salted Caramel Doughnut
When I first tried this doughnut, I find it delicious since the combination of salt and caramel is always a winner. But every bite of the doughnut made my taste buds think otherwise. It began to get salty and the sweetness of caramel slowly diminished. I don't know why but maybe, they've sprinkled too much salt in the doughnut.

Inside Salted Caramel doughnut is oozing with delicious filling that made me a bit satisfied and somehow, balanced the saltiness. I do hope that they'll reduce the amount of salt in the doughnut. To be honest, they can just remove the salt and make it like a caramel doughnut but if they'll stick to this idea, reducing the salt would be a better option. BUT, I'll try this doughnut again and I hope next time, I'll enjoy eating the Salted Caramel doughnut with balanced flavors.

Ciao!
Thanks for reading! :D

  1. I actually tried this last night and was wowed over it. It was so good I'm seriously thinking of getting another one later on the way home. Mine was the perfect balance of sweet and salty. Have you noticed the black specks on the salt sprinkled over it? Wonder if that was black pepper or vanilla bean seeds.

    1. I really don't know what were the black specs in the doughnut. I'll try to ask them. Try the Kreme Brulee too! You might love it too! :D

  4. I think its the black specks that makes it salty. I tried licking a part where it has a lot of black specks and it tasted very salty. They should sprinkle less of it.

    1. I agree with you on the black ones. It should be lessen so that the sweetness of caramel will not be overwhelmed. And thanks for visiting my blog! :D
