Tea Amo Bistro: Bigger and Better!
For 2 weeks, they've decided to renovate their store into a bigger and better Tea Amo and renamed their store "Tea Amo Bistro" sporting neutral colors and more space for their customers whom not just to enjoy the milk tea but to indulge with new meals that they can offer.
My first visit in Tea Amo was actually good as I went there for Trivia Night and ordered their Buffalo Wings. The space was small and can only accommodate few customers but it was homey and felt comfortable.
As I've said earlier, they're now sporting neutral colors with their store although there are elements that they've kept to retain the homey atmosphere. One thing that I love in Tea Amo are the mirrors! Why do I love mirrors? It's my bestfriend and I can always fix myself whenever my hair messed up. It's also a good addition to their store.

Tea Amo Bistro also have this wall that you can post anything that you want. You can ask from them for you to write something and post it on their wall. This is a great idea for you to express how you feel right now (ahem!)
This is the Salted Caramel Milk Tea. According to the owner, this is one of the best milk tea flavor that they have and of course, I have to try it. In Tea Amo, you can choose the percentage of sugar that you want and choose a sinker for free! In my milk tea, I had 50% sugar (which is recommended) and a pudding for sinker.
The taste is sweet because of the presence of caramel in the milk tea but I liked it! The pudding is so soft just like the custard flan! To be honest, they have the best pudding sinker I've ever tasted. The taste of caramel and pudding is a great combination and I would order this one again.
Last May 20, 2013, I was invited by Karla along with my fellow bloggers to have a taste test on their new meals. I'm excited since it's my first time to taste them. (Yup! First time!) Here are the meals that they've served to us.
This is Mamita's Chicken Parmigiana. It's a breaded chicken breast topped with tomato sauce, parmesan and mozzarella cheese, diced carrots and corn kernels on the side. This dish is actually retained from their old menu and it's one of their best-selling dish and I know exactly why: It has a big serving and it's just so delicious! The cheese on top is perfect for this dish!
Price: 165 Pesos
This is Caldereta Bordeaux. It's a slow-cooked beef bathed with a special sauce, topped with parmesan and mozzarella cheese, diced carrots and corn kernels on the side. This one is also delicious and I'm really satisfied with their beef. The flavors were combined perfectly and with 2 kinds of cheese on top, it's one perfect caldereta!
Price: 185 Pesos
This is Adobo Festival. It's a classic homegrown recipe our family used to serve during festivals. This dish has a cucumber on the side. The unique thing about this dish is the adobo is placed in a banana leaf to which I find it attractive. The adobo itself retained it's classic taste which can satisfy every customer who loves this dish.
Price: 165 Pesos
This is Spicy Pork Cracklings. This dish consists of pork slices fried with that guilty crunch, served with a special tangy sauce on the side. This dish reminds me of a chicharon but this one has more meat and I find this dish really good! The crunchy sound of the pork cracklings is a music to my ears especially when you bite and chew the pork. I love it!
Price: 155 Pesos
This is Home Sweet Ribs. It's a soft ribs with that familiar home-cooked taste. The dish is so good with the sauce in it. Although I prefer with the sauce separated from the ribs, it's perfectly fine. I just love to dip the ribs in the sauce and indulge! :D
Price: 175 Pesos
This is Coconut and Pesto Pork Braise. It's a slow braised pork blanketed in a cream mixture of coconut and pesto. Like what I always say "Everything with gata is delicious!" and this one is on my list. I love everything in this dish and the combination of coconut and pesto is perfect! The pork was soft too and didn't had a hard time slicing it.
Price: 165 Pesos
This is Creamy Chicken. It's a tender-cooked chicken with a veil of cream topped with kangkong leaves. This dish is also included in their old menu and one of the best-sellers. I love how creamy it is and gave justice to its name. In short, I'm lovin' this dish! Don't forget to eat the kangkong leaves, it's also delicious.
Price: 155 Pesos
This is Curry Tilapia with Mango Cilantro Salsa. It's a freshly cooked curried Snapper/Tilapia infused in a unique marriage of Middle Eastern and Asian flavors. I like the presentation but this dish would be presented better if the fish is in fillet but it tasted good and it's a bit spicy. The mango cilantro salsa itself is delicious and the one who gave color to the dish.
Price: 155 Pesos
Tea Amo also serve desserts and during my first visit, I ordered one but forgot the name. With this taste test, they served us Oatmeal Bars and Crinkles. I'm a sucker for bars and seeing the oatmeal bars is heaven! It has chocolate on it which made the bar delectable.
This version of Crinkles is a lot different from what I've seen. Unlike other crinkles I've tasted, this one has an Oreo cookie inside which made me curious on how it taste like. The Crinkles were soft and again.. yummy! It's a must try for chocolate lovers. The Oreo cookie inside was a perfect addition and blends in perfectly.
To end the taste test, they served us with drinks and I chose Very Berry. This drink is perfect for those who want to quench their thirst from the scorching heat of the sun and retreat to a place where cool drinks are served. This drink also has black pearls inside. When you order a meal, you can add 30 Pesos for a medium drink and 40 Pesos for a large one.
I had so much fun yesterday with the bloggers and their meals were superb! The servings of their food were so generous and it's so affordable! Every meal was delicious and was presented creatively.
Thanks to Karla for the invitation and to the Tea Amo owners April and Chiara for the food and drink that they've served to us. It was indeed a great day! I wish for the success of Tea Amo Bistro for the years to come! :D
Ciao!

DeleteI have noticed that there are now a lot of tea houses sprouting in different places around the Philippines, in the urban areas at least. The food looks delicious and the design of the tea house looks ok. I think for the size of the serving, the P150+++ for the food seems just about right.
