Pork Asado @ Mandarin Tea Garden

November 10, 2013 - Every time my family goes out for grocery shopping, we always end up eating at Mandarin Tea Garden that it is close to tradition to eat there. Although there are pros and cons when eating at Mandarin Tea Garden. But what made us return to this restaurant for the nth time? Their great food in an affordable price! :D

The first meal that I had was their Sweet and Sour Fish Fillet. This was included in their rice topping meal and happened to be my favorite before that I already memorized this one without looking at their menu. But my sister suggested to try their Pork Asado and that time, I almost hesitated to order this one but I just don't want to disappoint my sister and I just followed what she suggested and here I am, ordering their Pork Asado all over again. :D

Pork Asado
The Pork Asado is also part of their rice topping meals and one of my default order when I visit any of Mandarin Tea Garden branch. What made this restaurant a hit for the customers is the affordability of their meals and at the same time, it is really delicious that you can just become accustomed to have lunch at this restaurant. And.... let's talk about this Pork Asado! :D

The Serving:
When we say rice topping meal, it is served in a bowl where the rice is underneath and the Pork Asado is on top. It is also served with a sauce to give more taste on this dish. Whenever I order this meal, I observed the inconsistency when they serve this one. Sometimes, they're so generous with their pork, and sometimes, there are only a few cuts of it which made me wonder if they're still serious with it or they just had a bad day in the kitchen. You can also choose between plain rice and fried rice but in this lunch, I chose to have fried rice.

The Taste:
I've also noticed their pork cutlets that it's sliced differently. Sometimes, it's chunky and other times, it's thinly sliced but good thing is, the serving was generous which somehow, made me happy. Although it still has the classic taste, they lack sauce on this one but the soy sauce that I prepared kinda saved the meal and still managed to enjoy munching the Pork Asado. If there's one thing they should maintain is the consistency when it comes to the size of serving since it's always my issue. It's like a hit or miss situation every single time. But I STILL recommend to order this dish though. :D

Take note, whenever you visit Mandarin Tea Garden during lunch and dinner, expect a busy atmosphere which includes lots of customers, running waiters and waitresses, chefs inside the kitchen cooking like it's the end of the world but enjoy great food. And oh, I haven't told you that this is a Chinese restaurant! They have wide variety of choices like noodles, dimsums, rice topping meals, desserts, etc. I tell you, they're the one who serve the best Chinese food here in Davao.

Zaijian! Thanks for reading!
