Craving For Some Taho @ Taho ni Mang Andres, SM City Davao

June 25, 2014 - During my teenage years, I used to eat taho and we all know very well what taho is! If you see a man walking down the street carrying the ingredients to make taho, well, you've spotted the right man! It's one of my favorite street food (?) to eat with scraped soya curd, special sauce and tapioca. The thing is, you have to bring your own cup for him to make the delicious taho. It was priced at 10 Pesos back then.

Taho ni Mang Andres
When I went to SM City Davao 2 weeks ago, I was surprised a bit that a new kiosk just sprung like a mushroom! Taho ni Mang Andres graced in the scene and for those who love eating taho, this is for you! It's located near the main atrium and it can be easily spotted.

Creating Taho
Regarding the name of the store, I have no idea where and who was Mang Andres since I also didn't bother asking about it. But what I love about taho is how they put all of the ingredients together in one cup! But with this store, they have 3 flavors of sauce to choose from. They have the original, pandan and strawberry. I chose the pandan since it's always my favorite and default choice although I would have loved the original one but for the sake of exploring and discovering, choosing different flavors can be fun!

The Taho!
This taho that I have is priced at 40 Pesos. It may be a bit expensive compared to what we used to, this cup was pretty big! The taho was not as hot as I've expected since I bought it when it was already night time but nothing can stop me if I'm craving for something! :D

The taste of taho was definitely great considering that it's not hot anymore. It was like a regular taho with the taste that I've been looking for years! But this time, with the hint of pandan, this was like a level-up version of taho. I used to eat taho with a spoon but since they don't have any, I had to use a big straw to sip it and I'm thinking that I'll get used to this if I buy this taho at their store. I suggest that you try this one first and choose a flavor that you like or you want to taste. Until then! Ciao :D

Bye! Thanks for reading!

  5. The price seems reasonable naman since big cup ang ginamit. But sana hot kung i-serve, taho is great kasi if it is hot.

  6. I love taho, too, and like you, I prefer it hot.! We don't have a Mang Andres stall near us, but we have a different taho brand at Robinsons Galleria called Taho Boy. That's where I get my taho fix.

  10. I miss taho! I always order extra sago and arnibal. I have a sweet tooth hehe. Glad to see there's an "upscale" taho store now. Although I'm sure occasionally we miss the manong going around our neighborhood.

  11. Whether served hot or cold, taho would always be considered as one of my top picks when it comes to comfort food. Luckily, I'm just near MOA and I go to Hypermarket when I feel like wanting a cup of taho. Each order costs only PhP 15-20 (with sago and without).

  13. I love taho too! Been seeing taho and the chilled variant in malls now. Aliw 'cause we don't have to always wait for Manong Magtataho anymore to satisfy our cravings, especially if we're inside malls. But truth be told, the novelty of "nilalakong taho" is still more charming than those of kiosks and pop-ups. ^^
