Eating Dragon Fruit..

When you see a fruit that has unique features, you are seeing a dragonfruit. Well no wonder that it belongs to one of the several family of cactus. They are native to Mexico, South and Central America. They are also cultivated in East and South East Asian region. This fruit is also called pitaya or pitahaya.

Sweet Pitahayas come in 3 types namely:

Hylocereus Undatus - has red-skinned fruit with white flesh.
This is the most commonly seen "dragon fruit".

Hylocereus Costaricensis - has red-skinned fruit with red flesh.

Hylocereus Megalanthus - has yellow-skinned fruit with white flesh.

The taste itself is like of a guava though it's described as bland but with a mild sweetness. Though some may not like the taste of the fruit but I love eating this fruit. I may finish the whole fruit by myself if I want to. :D

If you want to indulge in this fruit, you may buy this fruit at grocery stores.
We found this fruit at SM Supermarket and they're expensive! (whew!)

Thanks for reading!
