Munchin' @ Pancake House, SM City Davao

August 2, 2013 - I always want to have a lunch at Pancake House and wherever I see that resto, all I can do was drooling over the food being posted on the glass wall. But what hurts me most is the price range of their food. It's mostly 150 to 500 Pesos and my wallet would severely suffer from the prices.

But this time, my money is just right for me to have my lunch at this resto for the sake of exploring new flavors and of course, for my blog! I sat on their leather chair and the waiter approached me to hand the menu. After choosing my meal, I took pictures of the resto.

Inside Pancake House, SM City Davao
Pancake House is dominated with bright colors such as orange and yellow. This resto opened in 2001, the same day when SM City Davao opened its doors to Davaoenos. Pancake House also had its renovation few years ago to serve the customers better. Indeed, this was better than the previous one.

Movie Posters
Pancake House doesn't just serve pancakes. They also have meals that every customer would love to eat. The movie posters on the wall gave color to the resto. These are the old movies that have been shown in the cinemas. The wall also has different colors like orange, yellow and pink.

Spicy Chicken with Brown Rice Pilaf
This is what I ordered for my lunch. It's Spicy Chicken with Brown Rice Pilaf. It's a flavorful brown rice pilaf paired with tender chicken paillard and garnished with garlic cream mayo, chopped parsley and lemon wedge. It's one of the Brown Rice Dishes that has been offered by Pancake House. I was happy since brown rice is healthy for our body and it's rich in fiber.

Price: 186 Pesos

Closer look
What I did first was, I squeezed the lemon wedge all over the dish just to give a zesty aroma of the dish. Then I tasted the chicken. It was spicy alright but it wasn't flavorful as I've expected. To give more flavor to the chicken, I dipped it on the garlic cream mayo and it tasted much better. But the surprising thing with this dish was the brown rice. It was so delicious that I was clamoring for more. Good thing, the serving was generous. It had lots of flavors and every spoon of this brown rice counts. I was so satisfied with this dish.

When I was about to pay for my meal, the lady handed the bill and now, I have to pay 200 Pesos including the service charge of 14 Pesos. Oh well. :D

Au Revoir!
