Get Ready For Araw ng Davao 2014!

March 7, 2014 - March is here once again and it's also the time to celebrate the cityhood of my beloved Davao and it is the Araw Ng Davao 2014! Unlike the past years, this year has no theme thus the opening of this celebration were kept simple but meaningful.

To keep the spirit of Davaoeños alive, series of activities were held in the malls including the opening of the Araw ng Davao 2014. To keep you updated on the activities, refer to the picture below.

Most anticipated events are from March 14 to March 16 which starts from the Big Davao Fun Sale, followed by Mutya ng Davao 2014 Coronation Night, Sayawan Sa Da'n, Datu Bago Awards / Mayor's Appreciation Night, Parada Dabawenyo and Banda Hudyaka.

  5. This is an important event for the city of Davao. Some businesses, leaders, orgs, schools will participates I think. More tourists to come.

  14. March is the month of fiestas. We just celebrated ours. I haven't been to Davao City yet. I hope to visit it one of these days.

  16. I miss this one. The last time I attended the Araw ng Dabaw was in year 2012. I am sure this will be another colorful and joyful celebration for all Davaoenos. I want to go their, but I can't. :(

The Araw ng Dabaw I remember years ago (I grew up there, went to Assumption School of Davao - former name, which is run by nuns, which explains why we had to wear Sunday dress during our proms, hehehe) was not like this. Yes, there was the Mutya ng Dabaw but street parades and other activities were not that really "big" and celebrated. Times have changed indeed... I miss Davao and hope we can visit my birth place again... in the near future.
