April 26, 2014 - Our adventure in SM City GenSan continued with "heavy" snacks when we visited Karate Kid. It's a Japanese restaurant that serves food with somehow, a twist of Japanese. This has no branch in Davao yet but I do hope they'll have one soon.. Anyway, we've invaded this place and here's the story:
|
Karate Kid, SM City GenSan |
Karate Kid in SM City GenSan is located on the first floor. Since it's new to us, we made a visit just to try their food since it looked unique and I happen to love pasta! (Yup! Pasta lover here!).
|
Inside Karate Kid |
Inside Karate Kid is an ample space with lots of tables and chairs for the customers. Even though it looked small but for us, it's just right since there were only few of us dining in the resto. To make the place more colorful, balloons were placed on the left side of the resto. :D
Here's the menu at Karate Kid. On the left side, it's more of a traditional Japanese and on the right side are the snacks that features a bit of a twist. Click on the menu for a larger image.
Since it was afternoon, we opt to order snacks as what I've said, it brings uniqueness and of course, being adventurous on food, I'd always try something new and different. I ordered Japanese Burger Pasta just for fun! It looked delicious but in all of my life, this was like my first time to try a pasta topped with burger patty.
Price: 109 Pesos.

Japanese Burger Pasta |
Surprisingly, the pasta was good and it wasn't like the sweet-style pasta to which most of the Filipinos are used to. The burger patty tasted just like a regular patty that I usually order in fastfood but it doesn't mean it's bad! It tasted great too! This was like a complete dinner to me since the pasta has the carbohydrates and the burger patty also has the protein content which I needed in my body.

Kido Master Burger |
|
Classic Burger |
My nephews Raphy and Demdem ordered Kido Master Burger and Classic Burger while my niece Jazz ordered fries as it's always her favorite whenever we eat at fastfood joints. When talking about the size of their burgers, it's slightly bigger than a fastfood ones that we know. What I love about their burgers is the presence of fresh lettuce which is very good to our body. Unanimously, their verdict was.. delicious! :D
The supposed to be "snacks" turned out to be our dinner as we were really full. We were about to watch a movie but yes, the time didn't permit us to do so but at least, we went back to Microtel early but this time, we rode a tricycle just to make sure we're safe. Thanks Karate Kid for the "snacks" and if they put up a branch in Davao, I would order their Japanese Burger Pasta in my cheat days! :D
Sayonara! Thanks for reading!

ReplyDeleteI've seen this restaurant before and never even tried to dine-in, i guess i prefer to choose the much pinoy foods rather than western as we only spend our vacation there.
ReplyDeleteI like the name of the restaurant :-) It looks very clean too :-) Affordable prices and delish foods to choose from :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's good I'm making pasta tonight for dinner, coz the pasta dish really made me drool :-)
ReplyDeleteThis is the first time I've heard of Japanese Burger Pasta. Quite interesting! The resto's name also reminds me of Ralph Macchio's movie with Pat Morita, which was a blockbuster hit back in the '80s.
ReplyDeleteWow! The food looks delicious! Yikes! :)
ReplyDeleteI so miss Gensan! And yeah! Karate Kid too! I used to frequent that when I was there but never blogged about the divine experience just yet.
ReplyDeleteNamimiss ko na kumain ng burger. Lagi ko nadadaanan ang karate kid pero di ko pa natry kumain sa kanila.

ReplyDeleteWe've tried dining in at Karate Kid only once but sadly didn't like how the dishes generally tasted. Reading this post makes me want to go back and have another try. I like how the Japanese burger pasta looked like.
ReplyDeleteI've tried Karate Kid befor but I didn't know there is such a product there that is pasta burger. Will visit their brunch soon!
ReplyDeleteA child themed resto or food chain gets more sales than those who aren't. Just my opinion!
