April 26, 2014 - Yup! This is a really late entry despite that I have so much time to write about this but I just got lazy! Anyway, when I was at my elementary years, I used to eat "scramble" which has shaved ice and flavored syrup in a plastic cup. That was one of my favorites especially when it's dismissal time.
Now, when I was in SM City GenSan, my eyes sparkled the moment I saw the stall that sells ice scramble and immediately, we headed at Pinoy Ice Scramble to try them out! Yes, a kid in me is back with this cool ice scramble.

Pinoy Scramble Stall near Food Court |
Pinoy Ice Scramble can be found just in front of the Food Court in SM City GenSan. I've tried other ice scrambles back in Davao and they were equally good but the best one was in NCCC Mall of Davao which was already closed (and I don't even know why! They were so good!). To eat this ice scramble again made me feel happy and excited as I really miss the taste of it. Haay!

Ice Scramble |
When buying the ice scramble, one can choose between two flavors: Strawberry and chocolate but since the other flavor was not available, we chose the strawberry instead. Ice scramble is of course made of ice with a flavor in it plus powdered milk on top then sprinkles or M&M. Our ice scramble also have a chocolate syrup just to add more flavor and more points in the presentation. Me and my two nephews Lee and Raphy chose black sprinkles while my niece Jazz chose M&M.

My Ice Scramble |
The ice scramble tasted so good especially when you mix it with powdered milk and other ingredients. Although our cup was big for us, every spoonful of ice scramble made me remember my childhood days. Although there were lumps, the ice scramble itself just had the right amount of sweetness because of the strawberry flavor that neutralizes the overall taste of the ice scramble.

My nephew Raphy.. :D |
I had so much fun eating the ice scramble and it was like a trip to the memory lane, reminiscing my childhood and the great thing is, I shared this moment with my little tykes whom they also had so much fun eating the ice scramble with me. Hope to see this store soon here in Davao City and just have fun eating again! :D
Au Revoir! Thanks for reading!
Scramble! Ang alaala ng pagdaan muna sa nagbebenta ng scramble matapos ang eskwela, bago umuwi.
ReplyDeleteIf they sell one right now, I would buy it in a heartbeat! :D
DeleteNakakamiss naman yang ice scramble dyan satin..
ReplyDeleteperfect drinks to cool off for the summer with the family :-)
ReplyDeleteReminiscing my high school days na a day is not complete 'kung hindi masasayaran ng scramble ang lalamunan lo'. The stuff then is so simple unlike itong na-feature mo. Level up na ang Pinoy scramble.
ReplyDeleteice scramble is the stuff we grew up with! remembering the days when I would stand outside the gate of our house waiting for the vendor with his unique voice shouting "is-cram-bol"
ReplyDeleteI have tried this one in SM bacolod and i love it too coz theres a lot of flavors to choose from.
ReplyDeleteBefore my time, it's just a shaved ice with powdered milk, then, blends throughly. It think, the same as in the Malls now. Mabenta sa Malls, para sa mga taong kulang sa budget.
ReplyDeleteWe have a stall here in our neighborhood offering the same. I guess pinoy scramble exists in a Filipino's childhood as a good memory.
ReplyDeleteRevisiting, there is a scramble vendor near sa church where I attended. May 2 flavors din siya, strawberry and chocolate. Hindi pa rin nalalaos ang scramble.
ReplyDeleteI love pinoy scramble as a kid and it's nice that it's available in the mall so current kids would appreciate it too.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite when I was a kid! Wow I miss scramble
ReplyDeleteYou know what I think when I saw this? Halo halo, a mini version of halo halo. I think this is a good business idea. I want to start this kind of business in the Philippines since it's always hot there.
ReplyDeleteI think scramble is a very Pinoy dessert. Kids love to eat and eat scramble because of the many flavors it has.
ReplyDeletei remember we have this in the city. unfortunately, never got to try before it was closed.
ReplyDeleteIce scramble definitely reminds us of our childhood days. Perfect on a hot summer day after playing games with friends! :-D
ReplyDeleteYes, ice scramble was very popular not very long ago but I think it will always have a place among Filipinos.
ReplyDeleteI remember when I was still younger... My friends and I would really wait for Manong Pinoy Scramble to set up his mini-store outside our school so we can have some treats! :)
ReplyDeleteOMG! haha This is one ice scramble with a twist. :) I'd love to try one of those too. PS. Haven't tried ice scramble pa like ever. :/
